Volunteer Fundraiser

Use your fundraising skills to make a positive impact on the lives of smallholder women farmers in rural areas.

As a Volunteer Fundraiser for AGDI, you will play a crucial role in helping us achieve our mission and objectives. We are committed to unlocking the potential of Sahel communities to achieve economic freedom through sustainable permaculture. Your efforts as a fundraiser will directly contribute to our ability to make a positive impact on the lives of smallholder women farmers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Fundraising Strategies: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop creative and effective fundraising strategies that align with the AGDI’s mission and values. This may involve identifying new fundraising opportunities, refining existing campaigns, and brainstorming innovative approaches to attract donors and supporters.
  • Donor Research: Conduct research to identify potential donors, sponsors, and partners who may have an interest in supporting our cause. Utilize various resources, including online databases, social media, and networking events, to identify and connect with potential donors.
  • Outreach and Relationship Building: Initiate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and other potential funding sources. Communicate the organization’s mission persuasively, highlighting the positive impact their contributions will have on the community or cause.
  • Fundraising Campaigns: Actively participate in fundraising campaigns. This may include online crowdfunding, charity events, direct mail campaigns, grant applications, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Donor Stewardship: Ensure proper stewardship of donors, including personalized thank-you messages, updates on the organization’s activities and achievements, and other forms of acknowledgment for their contributions.
  • Fundraising Events: Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, coordinating logistics, reaching out to sponsors, managing volunteers, and helping to ensure the success of the event.
  • Data Management: Accurately track donor information, contributions, and communications using Salesforce.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the fundraising team and other volunteers to maintain effective communication and coordination in all fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:

Passion for AGDI’s mission and a strong belief in its impact.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with potential donors and build lasting relationships
Ability to convey our mission and fundraising needs persuasively.
Strong organizational skills to manage fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship effectively.
Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or related fields is a plus but not required.
Comfortable using technology and digital tools for fundraising and outreach purposes.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling donor information with utmost discretion.
Enthusiasm, creativity, and a can-do attitude!
